About

Start Kalshi is not Kalshi.

Start Kalshi (startkalshi.com) is an independent guide to using a CFTC-regulated prediction market. We are not Kalshi Inc., and we do not run your account.

The site exists because the exchange docs are written for people who already know what a designated contract market is. Most visitors want a funded account, a first fill, and a way to get dollars back out — without guessing the fee formula. That is the job.

We publish walkthroughs (signup, deposit, trade, withdraw, fees), a Kalshi vs Polymarket comparison, in-browser calculators, a country checker, a review, and a news feed. Nothing here is an official Kalshi help centre. If the live app and this page disagree, trust the app.

How the site is funded

Start Kalshi is an affiliate site. If you open an account through some of the links to kalshi.com, we may earn a commission. That does not change the fee formula, the KYC rules, or which countries are blocked. The review still lists the debit-card 2% and the thin books. Disclosure is also in the footer and in the terms.

How the 4.4 review score is built

The score on /review/ is editorial, not a user-average from an app store. Six equally weighted buckets: regulation and safety, market variety, fees, product experience, funding, and support. Each bucket is scored out of five from public facts (CFTC DCM status, published fee cap, deposit rails, country list) plus how the product actually behaves when you try to place a clip. We do not take payment for a higher score. We do not invent a named rater to make the number look more official than it is.

What we do not do

  • We do not give investment, tax, or legal advice.
  • We do not hold customer funds or operate an exchange.
  • We do not tell anyone how to bypass a geo block or KYC with a VPN.
  • We do not run Kalshi customer support. Account locks, deposits, and withdrawals go through Kalshi.

Corrections

Fees, country lists, and APY figures move. If a guide is stale, say so on the contact page. Permalinks for citations live at /cite/. Privacy and terms live at /privacy/ and /terms/.
