Guides

Learn Kalshi in order.

Four steps to a funded account. Then fees and a comparison if you still need them.

Most people land on Kalshi with a market already in mind and no idea what KYC will ask for. These guides are the order that actually works: account, money in, first trade, money out. Fees and the Polymarket comparison sit after that, because they only matter once you can place an order.

Kalshi is a CFTC-regulated designated contract market. That is why US residents can use it without a VPN, and why identity checks are not optional. Signup is email, Google, or Apple, then a legal name, date of birth, address, and — for Americans — the last four of a Social Security number.

Deposits: ACH is free and slow. Debit is instant and costs about 2%. International members skip ACH. Idle USD can earn around 3.5–4% APY. Taker fees peak near 50¢ and cap at $1.75 per 100 contracts.

Each guide below is a single job. Nothing here is affiliated with Kalshi Inc. A VPN to look like another country is a terms violation, not a path in.

The non-brand question — what am I actually buying? — lives in What prediction markets are. Use that page if you are still deciding whether event contracts belong in your life. Use the four steps below if you already decided and just need the buttons in order.
