Event contracts settle to a dollar or to zero. There is no third print.

YES is $1 or $0. Partial exits are the only way to make a contract look like a stock. Read the resolution source before the crowd does.

A Kalshi event contract is not a share that can drift to $17. At expiry it is worth one dollar or nothing. Everything you do before that — scale in, scale out, flip from YES to NO — is just moving around that binary.

The resolution source in the rules is the whole product. “What the TV said” is not a source. “What a governor tweeted” is not a source unless the contract text says so. If you cannot name the document that pays $1, you do not have a view. You have a vibe.

People treat 62¢ like a forecast with a confidence interval. It is the last trade. Fees still come out. A winner bought at 62¢ pays $1 minus 62¢ minus the taker charge — not 38¢ even.

If you need the cash before expiry, you sell to someone else. That is a second trade with a second fee. Plan the exit when you plan the entry. StartKalshi does not place either one.
