NFL week one, and sports is still ~90% of Kalshi volume.

Politics made the brand. Football pays the bills. What that means if you actually want to trade macro.

Kalshi lists hundreds of thousands of markets. Most of the money is still on sports. After the 2025–26 NFL season, sports has hovered around 90% of traded volume.

That is not a bug. Sports contracts turn over daily, have clear rules, and attract the same flow that used to sit in sportsbooks — except the venue is a CFTC-regulated exchange.

If you came for Fed funds or elections, the books are still there. They are just quieter between prints. Spreads widen, size is smaller, and a market order will punish you.

Trade sports if you have a real edge on lines. Trade macro if you can wait. Mixing the two in one account is fine; mixing the two in one brain usually is not.
