Is Kalshi legal in Israel?
Yes. Residents of Israel can apply. Settlement is ILS converted into USD; Masav / Zahav transfers is not a Kalshi checkout.
ISA supervises Israeli capital-market actors. The Bank of Israel oversees FX banks. Kalshi does not appear on either local register as a venue.
Official site- Masav / Zahav transfers
- Bit (P2P)
- Israeli debit cards
Opening from Israel
A Teudat Zehut or Israeli passport plus a local address typically clears KYC. Bank-of-Israel real-time confirmation used by domestic brokers is not part of the flow. No TASE account is opened.
What Israel pays with at home
Bit and Masav shekel transfers do not credit Kalshi. Israelis usually purchase dollars through a bank FX desk — sometimes after a short compliance questionnaire — then wire USD or use a listed card / ZeroHash rail. A Bit charge from an unknown contact “for Kalshi” is a scam.
From ILS in Israel to USD
USD/ILS is liquid; Israeli banks still take a spread and may apply cash-transaction reporting above their thresholds. Shekels do not sit on the exchange. Convert first.
Hours in Israel (Asia/Jerusalem (IST / IDT))
Israel switches IDT on its own calendar, which does not match U.S. DST weeks. Check the offset around March/April and October. A Friday U.S. print can land after the local Shabbat start in winter — plan working-day exits.
Tax from Israel — we will not pick a rate
Israeli tax residents declare worldwide income. Whether event-contract P&L is capital gain or business income is a פקיד שומה / accountant question. A mas shevach figure published here would be guesswork. Keep USD statements and shekel conversion slips.

Identity checks still run on kalshi.com. If that signup or deposit screen disagrees with this note, trust Kalshi. StartKalshi is not Kalshi Inc.
