What South Africa pays with at home

PayShap, EFT, and SnapScan stay in rand. SARB exchange-control allowances (discretionary / foreign-investment) are the legal wrapper most residents use to buy foreign assets. Kalshi will not collect a South African EFT. After the bank releases dollars, send whatever method the live deposit screen actually shows.

From ZAR in South Africa to USD

USD/ZAR is liquid and noisy. Authorised dealers apply their own spread on top of the SARB process. Do not send ZAR and hope. We will not quote a live rand rate.

SARS expects worldwide income for residents and has foreign-asset disclosure on the return. Event-contract P&L is not a pre-coded IRP5 line. A tax practitioner registered with SARS should map the USD CSV. A CGT inclusion rate copied from a JSE sale would be the wrong stencil.
