Opening from Austria

Austrian Reisepass or Personalausweis plus Meldezettel-style proof typically clears KYC. ID Austria is not used. No depot is opened at an Austrian Bankhaus, and there is no KESt-automatism the way a local Wertpapierdepot would withhold.

What Austria pays with at home

eps, the Austrian online-banking checkout, does not deposit to Kalshi. SEPA stays in EUR. Buy dollars, then use whatever rail the live deposit screen lists that week. An eps lookalike “Kalshi einzahlen” page is a phishing pattern aimed at Erste and Raiffeisen users.

From EUR in Austria to USD

EUR/USD at Erste, Raiffeisen, or BAWAG includes their commercial spread. For size, a dedicated FX payment usually wins over a branch counter on Am Hof. Kalshi will not debit an AT-IBAN in euros and will not speak Austrian payment references.

Hours in Austria (Europe/Vienna (CET/CEST))

Vienna is CET/CEST, same civil offset as Berlin. West-coast American sports end in the small hours of a Viennese Monday; a working limit from Sunday afternoon is the practical habit.

Tax from Austria — we will not pick a rate

KESt on Austrian bankable products is a domestic story. Dollar event contracts on a foreign DCM do not arrive with a prefabricated FinanzOnline Kennzahl. A Steuerberater, not a blog, should map the result. A 27.5 percent figure copied from KESt would be guesswork on this page.
