India cannot trade Kalshi event contracts
If the residential address is in India, trading Event Contracts is prohibited under the Kalshi Member Agreement dated 17 June 2026. That is the rulebook, not a missing UPI button. Membership or non-trading access may still exist — we will not invent a KYC outcome. The product this site explains (dollar event contracts) is the thing the agreement bars.
RBI runs LRS and banking FX. SEBI regulates Indian securities. Neither has put Kalshi on an Indian licence register. The block here is Kalshi’s own Event-Contract list, not an RBI circular we are restating as a loophole.

The June 2026 list named India
Older snapshots on this site treated an Indian passport as an open application. The live Member Agreement dated 17 June 2026 lists India among Restricted Jurisdictions for Event Contracts. We follow that file. If kalshi.com later removes India from the list, the live screen wins and this page will lag.
UPI still does not appear on the deposit screen
UPI, IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, and RuPay were never a Kalshi checkout. They still are not. That is a separate fact from the Event-Contract bar. Do not send rupees to a stranger who claims to «fund Kalshi via UPI».
LRS and TCS are not a path around the agreement
A bank may still discuss a dollar remittance. That conversation does not rewrite Kalshi’s Event-Contract restriction. We will not quote a TCS percentage or invent an LRS purpose code that makes the ticket legal. Ask the AD bank and a CA; do not treat this paragraph as either.
What we will not publish
No VPN recipe, no «trade from a US VPS», no substitute venue pitched as a Kalshi twin. StartKalshi is not Kalshi Inc. Confirm any future change only on kalshi.com.
Identity checks still run on kalshi.com. If that signup or deposit screen disagrees with this note, trust Kalshi. StartKalshi is not Kalshi Inc.
