Opening from Philippines

A PhilSys or passport plus a Philippine address usually clears KYC. GCash KYC is a different identity silo — Kalshi will not import it. No PSE account is opened, and no BIR Form is generated by the exchange.

What Philippines pays with at home

GCash, Maya, InstaPay, and PESONet cannot fund Kalshi. Dollars typically leave through a BDO or BPI FX sale or a remittance product the BSP allows, then a method the deposit screen shows. A GCash send to a personal wallet “for Kalshi support” is a staple scam in Metro Manila group chats.

From PHP in Philippines to USD

USD/PHP retail windows at Philippine banks add a spread on top of BSP-related paperwork for larger tickets. Pesos never credit the exchange. Convert at the bank, then send dollars — a “GCash to Kalshi bridge” is someone selling you a story.

Manila is UTC+8 year-round. A mid-afternoon Eastern announcement is 02:00 or 03:00 the next calendar day depending on US daylight saving — often after local midnight. Park good-till-cancelled exits before you sleep in Quezon City.
