Opening from Sweden

A Swedish personnummer and BankID make domestic finance frictionless — Kalshi does not plug into BankID. Passport plus address proof is the usual KYC pack. No VP-konto is opened at Euroclear Sweden.

What Sweden pays with at home

Swish cannot hit a U.S. DCM. Bankgiro and Plusgiro are equally local. Swedes typically buy USD at a bank or EMI, then wire, or they use a card/ZeroHash path Kalshi publishes. Anyone asking you to Swish a private number for “insättning” is not the exchange.

From SEK in Sweden to USD

USD/SEK is a liquid G10 cross; Swedish banks still take a visible spread on small tickets. Convert before you remit. Kronor will not sit in the Kalshi wallet.

Stockholm is on CET/CEST. Midwinter means U.S. cash opens during the Swedish afternoon; NFL Sunday night is already Monday 01:00 in Södermalm.

Tax from Sweden — we will not pick a rate

ISK and KF wrappers that Swedes use for stocks do not wrap a U.S. DCM account. Event-contract P&L is ordinary foreign income until Skatteverket or your revisor says otherwise. A schablonintäkt copied from an ISK brochure would be the wrong tool. Bring the dollar CSV and every SEK conversion slip to the person who already files K4-style foreign holdings.

The Sweden order book

A Stockholm login that clears KYC still sees Kalshi’s dollar event book — elections, Fed, NFL — not Svenska Spel products and not Nasdaq Stockholm cash equities.
